Questions, answered
Short, honest answers to what people ask us most — about referrals, insurance, telehealth, cost, and getting started. Don’t see yours? Call (949) 850-2885 and a real person will answer.
No. California's direct-access law lets you begin physical therapy without a physician's referral — you can just call us. If your situation needs a doctor's input along the way, we'll tell you and coordinate with them. Plenty of patients come to us on referral too, and we're glad to work alongside the rest of your care team.
We're out-of-network by design, so we don't bill insurance directly. You pay us, and we give you a superbill to submit to your plan — many plans reimburse part of out-of-network care. HSA and FSA funds work here too. In return you get a full hour, one-on-one with a doctor, on a schedule matched to your needs — some start twice a week, many need just one.
We'll tell you the exact cost before you book — no surprises. Because every visit is a full hour one-on-one with a doctor, we set visit frequency by what your recovery needs — some start at two visits a week, others one — and focused hour-long visits usually mean fewer total visits than a high-volume plan. Call us and we'll walk through the numbers honestly for your situation.
Yes. We see patients in person in Irvine and by telehealth across California. A lot of concussion, vestibular, and speech therapy works well over video — we'll tell you honestly which parts of your care are a good fit for telehealth and which are better done in person.
Often, yes. Vestibular therapy is largely guided movement and retraining, and much of it translates well to video — we assess how you move, build your exercise plan, and adjust it week to week. A few things are better in person, like BPPV repositioning maneuvers and the initial balance assessment. We see telehealth patients across California; call and we'll tell you honestly which fits your case.
Comfortable clothes you can move in, a short list of your symptoms and how they've changed, any medications you take, and any relevant imaging or notes from other providers. If you wear glasses, bring them. That's plenty — you don't need to prepare a medical file.
We're at 18 Endeavor, Suite 105, Irvine, CA 92618, with parking at the building. Hours are Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm and Friday 8am–3pm. In-person visits are in Irvine; telehealth is available across California.
Earlier is helpful, but there's rarely a wrong time. Once the first acute days pass, gentle guided activity generally beats extended rest. If you were recently injured, call us and we'll tell you whether to begin now or wait a little — and what to do in the meantime.
No. Lingering symptoms months — even years — after an injury are among the most common reasons people come to us. Old symptoms don't mean permanent ones; treatment can start once we identify which systems are still involved. Call and we'll tell you honestly whether your case fits what we do.
Our speech-language pathologist, Amy Paap, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS, works with the thinking-and-communication side of stroke, brain injury, and neurological conditions like Parkinson's — memory, attention, word-finding, aphasia, and organizing thoughts — along with voice and swallowing. Adults and teens (teens for assessment). It pairs naturally with concussion and vestibular rehab under one roof.
Not at all. We treat concussion and brain injury from any cause — car accidents, falls, work injuries, sports — plus dizziness, vertigo (including BPPV), and balance problems that don't always come from a concussion. We treat adults and teens. If you're not sure whether we're the right fit, call and we'll tell you straight.
